• Son of Eric and Cathy Cooley
• Has two older brothers, Eric and Riley, and a younger sister, Lauren
• Brother, Eric, played four seasons of NCAA Division I college hockey at Niagara before spending the 2021-22 season at Ohio State, while brother, Riley, played in the NAHL for the New Mexico Ice Wolves in 2021-22
• Uncles, John Mooney (Colorado College) and Tom Mooney (Notre Dame), also played Division I hockey
• Selected No. 3 overall in the first round at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes and the first American-born player off the board
• Became the second-highest draft pick in Gophers history, behind only Erik Johnson (No. 1 overall, 2006)
• Ranked No. 2 in Central Scouting’s final ranking of North American skaters heading into the 2022 draft
• Highest drafted player ever from the state of Pennsylvania
• Only Gopher to ever wear No. 92, the highest number worn by anyone in team history
